A Farewell Reception for Norma Appleyard
Dec. 7, 5 - 7 p.m. PBB Rotunda, 15 Francis St.
Norma Appleyard is planning to retire at the end of December, having worked at the Brigham for 55 years. Since September of 1951, she served a series of vice presidents and ultimately the director of the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital for about 20 years prior to the merger. More recently, Norma staffed the Medical Staff Executive Committee, the Medical Staff Organization and subsequently the Physicians’ Council. She has worked diligently with our legal counsel updating and managing the approval and re-approval processes of the BWH Administrative/Medical Staff Policies. Finally, Norma has served with reliable distinction as, in her words, the “Den Mother” for the Medical Staff Reception Center. We all will miss her. Please save the date of Dec. 7, 5 to 7 p.m. and join us to wish her well at a reception in her honor!
