Black Honored Guest at CNS Annual Meeting
Peter M. Black, MD, PhD, chair, Department of Neurosurgery, was the honored guest at the 2006 Congress of Neurological Surgeons annual meeting held in Chicago this October. One neurosurgeon a year is selected by the Congress for this honor to recognize achievement in neurosurgical practice, teaching and research. Black delivered four lectures to more than 3,000 medical attendees with the general theme of “Transcendent Leadership” in patient care, scientific inquiry, training and the future of neurosurgery.
The Congress of Neurological Surgeons includes more than 5,300 board-certified and board-eligible neurosurgeons as well as residents, fellows and nursing and allied health professionals. It promotes the public welfare through the advancement of neurosurgery by a commitment to excellence in education and by dedication to research and scientific knowledge.
