“A change for the better” is how Cheryl Locke, vice president, Human Resources (HR), describes the new PeopleSoft HR/Payroll system, the new Kronos timekeeping system and the overall improvements to employment related processes—all of which make up the iBridge project, undergoing the first phase of implementation this fall. This new system will act as an “information bridge” between employees and their HR information needs. By bridging together many of the hospital’s HR functions, access to benefits and payroll information will be made easier and more efficient.
iBridge technology will eliminate many HR paper transactions. The new web-based system will streamline labor-intensive processes, saving time and effort for managers and others. One of the greatest benefits of iBridge, according to Janet Dussault, director, HR, is that the system “puts control in the hands of the users.” Employees will be able to perform routine tasks, such as address changes, and managers will have access to HR information directly from their desktops.
Employees in Patient Care Services will remain on OneStaff for time reporting and scheduling. In preparation for the fall rollout, managers, supervisors and timekeepers are currently undergoing training. All employees will receive Employee Self Service (ESS) training in the late fall.
