Judy Perron, RN, nurse manager, Emergency Department (ED), and her colleagues in the ED hosted Wee Fong Chi, RN, CCN, for two weeks during the nurses two-month visit to the United States to observe emergency department operations, systems and care. Wee, a senior nursing officer at the Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore, came to the U.S. on a government scholarship titled “Human Manpower Development Program.” While here, Wee studied clinical standards and quality improvement in emergency nursing, the role of the clinical nurse specialist in the ED, research, and emergency nursing and professional development in nursing, among other areas.
