Landrigan Receives SHM Research Award
Christopher P. Landrigan, MD, MPH, director of the Sleep and Patient Safety Program, in June received the 2006 Award for Excellence in Research from the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM). This award is presented to one physician annually whose primary focus is the general medical care of hospitalized patients and recognizes outstanding achievement in research.
Landrigan is a leader in academic pediatric hospital medicine and has established himself as one of the nation’s leading investigators in hospital medicine. He has conducted extensive research on physicians’ sleep and patient safety through the Division of Sleep Medicine at BWH and the BWH Center of Excellence for Patient Safety Research and Practice. Landrigan is co-founder of both the Pediatric Research in the Inpatient Setting network (PRIS) and the Harvard Work Hours, Health, and Safety group.
