Hurwitz Elected VP of Society for Thermal Medicine
Mark Hurwitz, MD, Radiation Oncology, in April became vice president-elect of the Society for Thermal Medicine. In 2008, he will become the society’s president. As vice president, his responsibilities include helping to set the agenda to most effectively carry out the society’s mission of promoting basic research and clinical application of thermal therapy.
Hurwitz joined BWH in 1997, and since then has become director of regional program development for the department of Radiation Oncology. The departmental outreach program seeks to bring innovative oncologic care to two community practices affiliated with BWH.
