BWH Bulletin's year-end issue is a time to highlight BWHers' proudest moments from the past year. We asked you to share one BWH-related memory from 2014 that was meaningful to you, and you offered touching stories about colleagues, patients, families, events and milestones that inspired you. We hope you enjoy these moments.
Courage and Hope Comforts the Community
Although I had the privilege of witnessing many shining moments in 2014, the one that stands out for me is our day of Hope & Healing on the anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings. On April 15, the fear and anguish that the horror of the bombings brought to our doorstep 12 short months earlier was replaced with courage and hope as we welcomed back many of our inspirational patients and listened as they shared stories of their individual recoveries, the lasting bonds they had each developed and their collective sense of gratitude for the love and support that our precious hospital and our beloved city offered them in their darkest hours.
