In an effort to educate staff on preparedness and safety, BWH continuously reviews and enhances hospital security policies. Recently, there have been improvements made to the Infant Security Program and Code Pink, the code for an infant who has been or is about to be abducted. The Infant Security Program is collaboration between the Nursing and Security Departments.
While adherence to the principles of Code Pink is especially important for staff in the Connors Center and Newborn Medicine, it is the responsibility of the entire BWH community to be alert, vigilant and prepared. “Everyone at the hospital plays an instrumental role in security and is counted upon to look for and respond to infant security issues,” said Bob Donaghue, operations manager, Security & Parking.
All hospital staff must be aware of the basic components of the Infant Security Program and participate when required.
