BWH walkers helped set the pace at the 2001 Boston American Heart Walk, raising more than $20,000 to fight heart disease and stroke. With more than 70 participants, BWH was one of the largest health care teams represented at the event, which took place on September 29. BWH walkers exemplified not only the hospital’s spirit of giving, but also the value of teamwork. While participants walked to support the American Heart Association, they were also giving back to BWH - currently, there is $4.3 million in American Heart Association funded research projects underway at BWH.
