Call for Applications for Global Nursing Fellowship Coming
The BWH Department of Nursing’s Global Nursing Program will be issuing a call for applications for a global nursing fellowship. The program goals are to develop further the principles of access to care in resource-limited settings; support health care and health education for the poor; enhance community partnerships internationally and locally; address basic social and economic needs; and share these international experiences with colleagues in the BWH nursing community. Watch for the ‘Call for Applications’ to be distributed via e-mail from the Center for Nursing Excellence.
Thomson Award Ceremony March 26
The recipients of this year’s Thomson Leadership Award and Compassionate Care Scholar Awards will be honored Wednesday, March 26, at 4 p.m., in the Bornstein Amphitheater. John Auerbach, the commissioner for the state Department of Public Heath and formerly executive director of the Boston Public Health Commission, is the guest speaker.
The Thomson Leadership Award is presented to a staff member who exemplifies qualities of leadership as described by Thomson, who was often referred to as the “conscience of BWH.” Awardees receive up to $2,500 to attend a leadership program of their choice. Thomson Compassionate Care Scholar Scholarships provide $1,000 as seed money to support projects that benefit BWH patients.
