Michaud Named Trauma and Burn Program Manager
Yvonne A. Michaud, MSN, RN, was named to the position of Trauma and Burn Program manager.
Michaud brings 19 years of nursing experience, trauma specialty care and state injury prevention leadership to the Division of Trauma, Burn, and Surgical Critical Care. Most recently, Michaud held the interim position and guided BWH through a successful Level I trauma center site review conducted by the American College of Surgeons-Committee on Trauma. She came to BWH as a clinical nurse specialist for the trauma service.
In December, Michaud was appointed as the Massachusetts state chair for the Society of Trauma Nurses. The Society of Trauma Nurses is the only international, professional nursing organization that spans the continuum of trauma care.
“This is an exciting time for trauma care. Being a nurse at BWH represents opportunity within our innovative organization to collaborate internally, as well as to expand cooperation with other trauma-related organizations,” said Michaud. “I welcome the opportunity to position the Trauma and Burn Center as a national and worldwide leader in excellence, scholarship and trauma education.”
Michaud received her bachelor of science in Nursing from UMass-Boston and her masters of science in Nursing from UMass-Worcester. She began her nursing career at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in 1989.
