Nicole Spano-Niedermeier Named Assistant Nurse Manager
Nicole Spano-Niedermeier, BSN, RN, in July joined BWH as the assistant nurse manager of the Cardiovascular Diagnostic and Interventional Center (CDIC). Spano-Niedermeier comes to BWH from Massachusetts General Hospital where she was a staff nurse in the Knight Cardiovascular Catheterization Center. Previously, she was a staff nurse in MGH’s cardiac surgery ICU and step down units, managing the pre- and post-operative care and management of cardiac surgical patients. She also took part in facilitating an ongoing research study measuring physical and emotional responses of family members with loved ones undergoing cardiac catheterization, which was funded through a grant from MGH’s Yvonne L. Munn Nursing Research Award in 2006. Spano-Niedermeier began her nursing career at MGH in 2000. She graduated with a BSN from UMass-Amherst.
