The Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center (SJPHC) will hold its second annual National Hispanic Heritage Month luncheon and presentation on Monday, September 18, from 12-1:30 p.m. Representatives from the Governor’s Office of Puerto Rico and from the Latino newspaper El Mundo will present awards to members of the SJPHC staff in honor of their work towards promoting Latinas in the health care workforce. A potluck luncheon will feature traditional foods from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Chile, Columbia, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Argentina and more. Following the lunch will be a presentation of the traditional dance plena. Exhibits featuring pictures and information about various Latin American countries will be on display.
