Reilly Named Vice Chair for Integrated Clinical Services
John Reilly, MD, in December was named vice chair for Integrated Clinical Services in the Department of Medicine.
In this role, Reilly is responsible for the Department of Medicine’s development and implementation of an integrated plan for clinical growth. He coordinates the department’s multiple inpatient medical services and oversees medical quality assurance activities to ensure patients continue receiving optimal care. This involves maintaining and emphasizing medical services to provide high quality care to patients, mentoring relationships for residents and maintaining and enhancing a safe, efficient environment for physicians, nurses and staff.
“We are very pleased Dr. Reilly is taking on this new role, and we look forward to his leading inpatient clinical services for the Department of Medicine,” Joseph Loscalzo, MD, PhD, chairman of the Department of Medicine, said.
Reilly joined BWH in 1987 after earning his MD from Harvard Medical School and completing his medical residency and fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine at BWH. In addition to his new position, Reilly will continue as acting chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at BWH. He also leads a clinical and translational research program and sees patients in the Center for Chest Diseases, on the Pulmonary Consultation Service, and in the Medical Intensive Care Unit.
