Scott Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from APAS
Richard Scott, MD, of the Orthopedics Department, received the lifetime achievement award from the Asian Pacific Arthroplasty Society (APAS). He accepted the award at the society’s annual meeting in October in Shanghai, China.
Scott was honored for his many contributions to the field of joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, which includes the design of joint prostheses used throughout the world and the publication of hundreds of articles concerning results and techniques. His book, “Total Knee Arthroplasty,” was published in 2006 and has been translated for circulation in China.
The APAS is comprised of joint replacement surgeons from Asian and Pacific countries, including Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. Approximately 2,000 delegates attended the annual meeting.
