All employees, volunteers, medical and professional staff, temporary employees, students and trainees are required to complete a new training module, called BWH HIPAA, in HealthStream by Jan. 15. Training sessions are now available for all employees.

Are you resolving to kick your smoking habit this coming year? BWH offers several resources to staff looking to quit. Resources include the opportunity to meet with a provider in Occupational Health to develop a customized plan, free nicotine gum and lozenges and a dedicated phone line and email address.
Be sure to login to eBenefits via PeopleSoft this week to check that your 2012 benefits are listed correctly. Choose “Benefits Summary” and change the date at the top of that page to 1/1/2012 to view your 2012 benefits. Contact the Benefits Office immediately at 617-726-8133 if your summary does not reflect the choices you made during open enrollment.

The Medical Staff annual meeting is Monday, Dec. 19, at 5 p.m. in the Bornstein Amphitheater. The meeting begins with a business report and vote on amendments of medical staff bylaws, led by Stan Ashley, MD, chief medical officer. Brandon Earp, MD, will provide a physicians’ council update, and Partners President Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA, will present, “Our Future, Our Challenges, Our Strategy.” A reception will follow in the Cabot Atrium.
