Tracey Flavin joined the Department of Ambulatory OB/GYN for its annual holiday breakfast with a special honor: to present the first annual Wendy Jeffrey-O’Flavin C.A.R.E. award, named for her mother who lost her battle with cancer this past July.
This award is given to a front line staff member in Ambulatory OB/GYN who best and most consistently exhibits Commitment, Attitude, Respect and Empathy in his or her everyday work. Linda Lyles of the Center for Infertility and Reproductive Surgery received the inaugural C.A.R.E. award for being a role model of compassionate patient and family care.
“It seemed especially fitting that the selection committee chose Linda because Wendy was Linda’s long time practice partner and dear friend during her long employment here,” said Sandy Harmon, MSN, RN, nursing director.
Kathy Lyons, BSN, RN, is Lyles’ nurse practice partner. “Linda encourages her co-workers to be thoughtful and respectful in the way they treat others,” she said. “She welcomes every person entering the practice with a heartfelt greeting that immediately decreases the level of stress they might be experiencing.”
Lyles said it was an honor to receive the award. “I hope to continue Wendy’s good work in the future,” she said.
