BWH mourns the loss of Security Officer Miguel Toro, who passed away unexpectedly Dec. 7 at the age of 47.
Mr. Toro was employed at BWH for more than 10 years, for most of which he was stationed at the West Plaza Loading Dock on Shattuck Street.
“Mr. Toro was always a welcoming face to anyone who passed his dock during the day,” said Robert Chicarello, director of Parking and Security. “He will be greatly missed by all of our security officers and the many people he interacted with every day.”
Mr. Toro will be remembered by his colleagues for his love of New York sports teams.
He is survived by his son Anthony M. Toro, who is a senior at Chelsea High School; his mother, Doris Vega; his father, Miguel Toro; a brother, Luis Toro, of Chelsea; and a sister, Maureen Toro, of Boston.
