The BWH HIV Vaccine Trials Unit and BWH celebrate HIV Vaccine Awareness Day by hosting “Let’s Talk HIV Prevention,” a scientific symposium focusing on research related to HIV prevention and the development of a safe and effective HIV vaccine, May 18, 3:30–5 p.m., in the Bornstein Amphitheater. A community roundtable focusing on what the development of an HIV vaccine would mean for the people of Boston is also scheduled for May 20, 2:30–5 p.m. in Carrie Hall.
Is math a barrier to you entering college? Are you looking to improve your reading and writing skills? BWH Workforce Development is now accepting applications for free pre-college math and reading and writing classes for BWH employees. Classes begin in September and meet on campus in the late afternoons for 2.5 hours per week for eight months. BWH’s Division of Otolaryngology hosts free hearing screenings for BWH employees on May 20, 9-11:30 a.m., in the Division of Otolaryngology clinic in the 45 Francis St. lobby.
