BWH mourns the loss of Mr. Jean Eloi, OR assistant, who passed away April 3. He was 56.
Mr. Eloi began his career at BWH in September 1980 and most recently worked in the OR’s orthopedic zone.
For more than three decades at BWH, Mr. Eloi dedicated himself to helping patients and being a friend to colleagues.
“He left quite a legacy here,” said Toni Kimble, OR assistant supervisor, who worked with Mr. Eloi for most of his career at BWH. “He was a kind and caring person who was always ready and willing to lend a hand.”
Kimble also said Eloi’s acts of kindness were carried forward in recent weeks, when a group of his former colleagues visited his family to present funds collected by friends and former co-workers.
Mr. Eloi’s colleagues recall that he loved spending time with his family and was an avid domino player.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Eloi, and four children: Pierre, Kebert, Carmelle and Kery Eloi.
Funeral services for Mr. Eloi were held in the St. Matthews Church on April 9.
