The year-long BWH Family History Project began wrapping up on a sweet note last week as staff, volunteers and leadership served ice cream to BWHers who completed their Family History Project surveys. Employees have through Nov. 30 to turn in their surveys at any of the drop-off boxes throughout the hospital.
President Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA, Bill Churchill, MS, RPh, executive director of Pharmacy, and Bob Goldszer, MD, MBA, associate chief medical officer, were among those who rolled up their sleeves to scoop ice cream in support of the project, which encouraged employees to complete their family medical histories using the U.S. Surgeon General’s “My Family Health Portrait” online tool. Employees also were asked to complete a survey addressing the user-friendliness of the tool to identify areas for improving it.
“Thanks to everyone who completed their family histories and surveys,” said Michael Murray, MD, clinical chief in the Division of Genetics and Family History Project leader. “If you haven’t already done so, please submit your survey by Nov. 30. The data we collect will help the U.S. Surgeon General enhance the online tool.”
