Flu season has arrived, and Brigham and Women's Seasonal Flu Vaccination Program is offering clinics for patients, visitors and employees. Influenza vaccination remains the most effective flu prevention strategy. Protect yourselves, your families and your patients by getting vaccinated and encouraging your patients to get vaccinated.
The employee clinic will be held Oct. 13 - 20, 6:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., across from Shop on the Pike. Annual TB screening will also be available during this time. Please bring your hospital ID and wear loose-fitting clothing. Vaccine clinics for off-site employees will be held at locations throughout the distributed campus in October and November. Visit BWHPikeNotes.org for a complete schedule.
Employees may also receive flu vaccination through the peer-to-peer program in all inpatient and some ambulatory areas. Contact Occupational Health Services at 617-732-6034 with questions.
As in past years, all employees are required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) to document in PeopleSoft that they either received a flu vaccination or declined to be vaccinated by Dec. 15, 2012. If you receive your vaccine through the Occupational Health clinics, this information will be automatically documented in PeopleSoft for you.
BWH will hold central flu vaccination clinics for patients and visitors on Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., on the Tower mezzanine, in the alcove next to the Shapiro Center bridge. Clinics for visitors will also be held in Foxborough and at 850 Boylston St.; visit BWHPikeNotes.org for the schedule.
