As a pacesetter in patient safety-enhancing technology, such as computerized order entry and eMAR, Partners HealthCare and BWH were highlighted in a special IT section of the Aug. 1 issue of U.S. News & World Report.
The special section ranked the most wired hospitals in the country. The “Can High Tech Save Your Life” section included BWH and 46 other hospitals identified by U.S. News as the best in applying information technology in care delivery.
In addition to BWH, other Partners hospitals mentioned include MGH, McLean and Spaulding. BWH and other “most wired” leaders have a mortality rate that is 7.2 percent lower than others, on average, according to U.S. News.
