Ruth A. Baylis, MS, this month joined BWH as director of Employment Services in Human Resources. In this position, Baylis will lead BWH’s recruitment and retention programs. She will establish the strategic direction of staffing requirements, ensure that Employment Services remains customer focused, help develop policies and programs for employee retention and prepare and coordinate all staffing reports for senior management. She also will oversee Volunteer Services.

Baylis has extensive experience in human resources, most recently as director of HR at the Massachusetts Audubon Society, an internationally recognized environmental not-for-profit organization. There, she developed and managed several programs, including the design of a compensation program to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness. She also was vice president of Human Resources at Baring Asset Management, a global investment management firm, and was part of a team that developed an HR information system to support personnel management company-wide. Baylis earned a master’s degree in industrial and labor relations from the University of New Haven.
