More than 650 mothers, daughters, sisters and friends arrived at the Boston Marriott Copley Place for the packed agenda of the fifth annual Women’s Health Forum on Saturday, November 8. Attendees were inspired by keynote speakers Nancy Snyderman, MD, author and former ABC News medical correspondent, and Byllye Avery, an activist and founder of the National Black Women’s Health Project. All took part in health education workshops led by BWH experts throughout the day. Attendees had the opportunity to receive a variety of health screenings—approximately 200 body fat analyses, 250 blood pressure/cholesterol/glucose screenings and 200 osteoporosis risk assessments were conducted. BWH’s Depart-ment of Marketing and Planning organizes the annual event, which is well-received each year by the women who attend and the BWH community.
