BWH residents Fidencio Saldana, MD; Rebecca Plank, MD; Lamioko Pappoe, MD; and Mark Pomerantz, MD (pictured below), volunteer for the Maurice J. Tobin School in Mission Hill. Pomerantz was the first BWH resident to participate in the “Resident Program at the Tobin School,” using his elective, outpatient clinic time to voluntarily teach in a 5th grade classroom. Plank and Pappoe took part in Health Career Day this past June, visiting 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classrooms to talk about their health care professions and roles at BWH. And Saldana found time in his busy schedule as a resident to volunteer for both. Your donation to the Tobin School Fund will compliment the tremendous efforts of these residents, among many others in our community, by supporting the academic progress of the children, while enhancing their emotional and social development. It’s not too late to make a donation to the United Way/Tobin School Fund Campaign. Pledge cards can be submitted via email or sent through interoffice mail to the United Way/Tobin School Fund Campaign, c/o the mailroom. Call ext. 2-5998 with any questions.
