Volunteer as a pen pal to grade two and three students in nearby elementary schools. Pen pals receive one letter a month and write one back per month to their student pen pal, and all correspondence goes through the Center for Community Health and Health Equity so no personal information is exchanged. Just in time for your holiday shopping, Shop on the Pike is expanding its hours until 10 p.m. on Thursdays. New items include gift cards and Fair Trade items, such as ornaments made in India and Central America, crafted from recycled materials in a non-exploitive, sustainable environment.
There are two additional Joint Commission HR education sessions for managers, Dec. 14, 10:30 a.m. – noon, and Jan. 21, 9:30 – 11 a.m., both in Carrie Hall. These sessions provide a brief overview of the Joint Commission scoring and accreditation decision, review the important HR Standards and discuss the challenges and compliance strategies in place to meet them.
