A series of renovation projects begins this week in the hospital’s main lobby at 75 Francis St.
Construction started on new space for Obstetrics Admitting adjacent to the escalators opposite the main information desk. The glass and wood façade on the outside of the new OB Admitting will mirror the Bretholtz Center for Patients and Families and Admitting.
Temporary walls topped with plastic sheets were erected Thursday near the escalators to wall off construction activity and contain dust and debris.
Additionally, in coming weeks there will be a project to reconfigure the valet waiting area outside Au Bon Pain, and that project will be followed by changes coming to the seating area outside the Emergency Department, with an expansion and renovation of the ED slated to begin in December.
