Luis Soto was named director of Central Transport and Patient Equipment Services last month.
In his new role, Soto will lead the department of more than 100 employees in providing safe, comfortable and efficient transport services to BWH’s patients and delivering vital equipment needed for care.
Soto previously was the assistant director in Environmental Services and has more than 20 years of experience in successfully implementing environmental services functions.
Among his many accomplishments at BWH, Soto was a key player in the process to purchase and install a regulated medical waste processing plant system, saving BWH significant resources in disposing of regulated medical waste. In addition, he also was instrumental in designing the hospital’s recycling program to meet Environmental Protection Agency requirements.
