Yolanda Cellucci helps cancer patient Donna Scopa at Friends Place, a part of the DF/BWCC.
Bridal shop owner Yolanda Cellucci generously donated several hundred wigs to the Friends Place boutique, a part of Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center. The wedding icon, known for helping thousands of brides, delivered the wigs herself last month, meeting with Friends Place manager Julie Durmis and several cancer patients.
Cellucci, known as the “Sultan of Sequins” and the “First Lady of Fashion,” owned Yolanda’s Bridal Salon in Waltham, which closed its doors recently after 41 years. She had started her business out of her home, selling wigs to cancer patients and head-injury patients.
Friends Place offers specialized consulting for men, women, teens and children experiencing appearance changes following cancer treatment.
