Think pink. In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, BWH is holding several events to encourage employees to get screened, learn to reduce their risk for breast cancer and employ laughter as the best medicine. Special thanks to the hundreds of staff from the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center who participated in the 2009 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event, which raised a total of $3.1 million for the American Cancer Society.

Employee Screening Mammograms
To make it as easy as possible for female employees to get their mammogram, the Lee Bell Breast Imaging Center is offering extended hours with special appointment times beginning at 6 p.m. for BWH employees. Women over 40 who had their last mammogram more than a year ago and do not have any breast health issues or changes since the last screening, are eligible to schedule an appointment by calling 617-525-8684.
