Are you looking for child care? The Office for Women’s Careers’ online resource lists some child care options available to BWH faculty and employees.
“Our office is committed to the professional development and advancement of women faculty, and finding reliable child care is an issue for many women,” said Deborah Fredberg, MBA, program manager for the Office for Women’s Careers. “We hope that this online guide will be of service to them.”
By going online, you can find information about the Nanny Network and day care centers in the Longwood area with contact and fee information, as well as how many slots are allotted for BWH employees if applicable.
Even if you already have reliable day care, you may want to keep the number and Web site for the BWH Backup Child Care Center handy. The center provides care for $6 an hour for children of BWH and Dana-Farber employees when their regular day care falls through. The center also offers vacation club week specials during school vacation weeks, when parents may need another option for day care.
Visit www.brighamandwomens.org/CFDD/OWC/default.aspx and click on Child Care on the menu on the left side of the page.
Correction: Backup Child Care
The BWH Backup Child Care Center is open to the children of BWH employees and patients, as well as patients of Dana-Farber who are treated at BWH. The last issue of BWH Bulletin incorrectly stated the center is open to DFCI employees.
