Are you involved in an improvement team? Have you won a service or leadership award? Maybe you have a great idea about how to enhance communication between departments but never knew how to go about bringing your idea to life. As a result of last year’s Staff Survey, Staff Survey Action Teams are now forming to address five areas that staff members said were in need of improvement—communication, leadership, quality patient care/customer service, respect, and teamwork. “There are hundreds of great ideas out there as well as dozens of successful programs that could serve as models for hospital-wide efforts. The Survey Action Teams give staff and employees a way to voice their ideas and share their experiences for the benefit of the hospital as a whole,” said Martha Pyle Farrell, director of Special Projects and co-director of Staff Survey Leadership Team. “The survey results indicated that staff do not feel they are involved in making changes within the organization. This is a chance to be directly involved.” Action Team sign-up sheets will be printed in next week’s BWH Bulletin and are available from your Human Resources Generalist, from Staff Activities Coordinator Derek Czerwinski (ext. 6584), and from Martha Pyle Farrell (ext. 5741).
