In an effort to recognize caregivers for their extraordinary efforts during a particularly busy period of time, BWH has rolled out a summer incentive program. From June 23 through September 3, RNs, PCAs, ESAs, LPNs, Unit Coordinators, Unit Associates and Escorts, Surgical Technicians, and Central Processing Technicians and Supply Clerks are eligible for a pay incentive for all voluntary extra shifts worked above scheduled hours, for available shifts starting Friday at 7 a.m. through Monday at 11 p.m. During this time, $150 will be paid for 12-hour shift, $100 will be paid for an eight-hour shift, and $50 will be paid for a four-hour shift. As the program is reviewed, more positions may be included.
While there is normally a slight decrease in the number of patients treated during the summer months, the hospital needs to be prepared if the current trend continues in the near future. As a result, in addition to the on-going recruitment efforts to fill vacant positions, the hospital is pleased to offer this program designed to reward nursing and support staff for their extra efforts.
Per diem employees are eligible for the incentive for extra shifts worked during the defined time, which are over and above their minimum required shifts in a month and if there is no unplanned absence during the week (Sunday through Saturday).
Incentive will be paid, assuming that all scheduled hours for the week are worked and if there is no unplanned absence during the week (Sunday through Saturday). Approved FMLA are not considered unplanned absences.
Your manager will be able to provide more information about the summer incentive program. Contact your Human Resources Generalist with any additional questions.
