WH is now accepting applications for two Minority Faculty Career Development Awards. This award is designed to select talented under-represented minority physician-trainees early in their careers (house-staff/early fellowship) and help them obtain and develop the skills needed to obtain a faculty position at Harvard Medical School and BWH. Each awardee will receive a substantial monetary allowance over seven years that can be applied to enhance career development.
The application should contain: 1. A departmental nominating letter outlining the applicant’s qualifications and a plan for his/her career development. This should include a commitment to provide them him/her with a faculty position at BWH during the tenure of the award.
2. Two additional letters of recommendation from faculty who are familiar with the applicant and his/her academic potential and accomplishments.
3. A brief statement (two-page limit) from the applicant regarding how he/she plans to develop his/her academic career and how the award will assist him/her with their their plans.
4. An updated curriculum vitae.
Interested individuals should contact their Department chair or Division chief. Applications are due November 14, and the recipients will be announced in January.
