BWH mourns the loss of Linda Kraiger, RN, a nurse educator for the Float Pool, who had worked at BWH for more than 20 years. She died on Sept. 27 at age 64.
Before joining the Float Pool, Ms. Kraiger, of Easton, Mass., worked as a nurse manager in the MICU. She was a graduate of the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing and received her master’s in nursing from Boston University. Before joining BWH, she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Says Float Pool Nursing Director Catherine Rumble-Paccioretti, MS, RN: “She was a brilliant nurse/clinician who had so much passion for her work, her patients and their families. Linda enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others and prepping new nurses in their transitions to BWH. She touched so many lives as a great nurse, nurse leader and educator.”
Added Former Associate Chief Nurse Nancy Hickey, MS, RN, who worked closely with Ms. Kraiger: “Linda was a gem, a wonderful nurse and person. I will remember her dedication and compassion. She supported me in so many ways, and I will miss her terribly.”
In her spare time, Ms. Kraiger enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Shelton Hogan; son, Joshua Hogan; and her sister, Paula Corrao. Services were held earlier this month in Easton.
