On March 12, senior staffers of several Massachusetts Statehouse officials paid a visit to BWH, wearing crisp white coats and eager to learn about the important work of an academic medical center. The visit, called Project Medical Education, was a joint effort among the Conference on Boston Teaching Hospitals (COBTH), Partners Government Affairs and BWH. Chuck Pozner, MD, medical director of the STRATUS Center for Medical Education, took staffers on an engaging tour of STRATUS, which included simulations of clearing a clogged artery and gallbladder surgery. The remainder of the visit included presentations about BWH's mission areas by Vice Chair of Primary Care Joseph Frolkis, MD, PhD; Director of BWH's Internal Medicine Residency Program Joel Katz, MD; Vice President of the Center for Community Health and Health Equity Wanda McClain, MPA; and Director of the Cardiovascular Genetics Center Christine Seidman, MD.
