Robert Goldszer, MD, MBA, associate chief medical officer and master of cermonies for the April 1 event, said, “Dennis’ decisions were always based on what was best for our patients.” Thomson's compassion was the inspiration for the Thomson Compassionate Care Scholarship recognition program, also in its in fourth year.
Chief Medical Officer Andy Whittemore, MD, was joined by Thomson’s widow Betsy Broadman to present each of the 2003 scholars with their award. Each received seed grants to use toward their proposed project to help bring more compassion to the bedsides of patients in their respective areas.
