When a job request lands in the hands of senior technician Doreen Sese, members of the Stem Cell Transplant program rest assured that it will be taken care of efficiently, accurately and within a time frame that exceeds expectations.
"It remains unclear how she is able to respond to so many inquiries and complete them with accuracy and in a pleasant, respectful and knowledgeable manner," read Sese's nomination for the Partners in Excellence Award.
Sese was one of 81 individuals and 962 members of 41 project teams from BWH, the Brigham and Women's Physicians Organization and Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center to be honored with a Partners in Excellence Award in December.
"Whether a clinician, researcher, administrator or technical or support staff, each of you play a significant role in carrying forth our mission—to deliver the highest quality and safest patient care, advance medicine through scientific discovery, train the next generation of health care professionals and serve our community," BWH President Betsy Nabel, MD, said to the recipients who packed the Jimmy Fund Auditorium for the award ceremony.
Rachel Rosenblum, director of Surgical Services Operations and Program Development and former PIE award recipient, was the ceremony's guest speaker and shared why she loves working at BWH.
"The Brigham sits on a national stage and yet we are also privileged to serve our local community," she said. "Through the day-to-day work of our researchers, educators, clinical staff, and all those who support them, the Brigham is transforming the way health care is delivered."
