Margaret “Peggy” Daily, RN, passed away last week after a three-year battle with cancer. Daily joined BWH in 1989 on the renal transplant floor. After working in that capacity for five years, she served as a staff nurse on the cardiac surgery step down unit on 8AB for eight years and finished her career there. She will be missed by all her friends and colleagues at BWH.
A memorial service will be held in the BWH chapel to honor and remember Daily on Wednesday, January 22 at 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
“Not only was Peggy an excellent clinician, always putting patient care first, but she had a soft spot in her heart for all health care workers. Her compassion and caring was exemplified with her professional interactions with patients as well as her relationships with colleagues and friends. She will be missed by all,” said Nurse Manager Sarah Thompson, RN, MSN.
Co-worker, Joan Dorr, RN, will always remember Daily's kindness and her willingness to go the extra mile for patients, families and colleagues. “She was a humble individual who treated everyone with respect,” said Dorr.
Donations are being collected in Daily’s name to make a group contribution to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Those interested should visit or contact staff nurses Heather Cruickshanks, RN or Cindy Weiffenbach, RN on 8AB.
