Once again BWH employees gathered to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by commemorating through word and song, King’s dreams of freedom and equality. This year’s January 14 celebration marked the fourth annual participatory recitation of King’s famous “I Have a Dream” speech, an event that has become a proud tradition at BWH.
“Gathering to celebrate Dr. King’s birthday each year gives our employees the opportunity to build a stronger sense of community by focusing on the principles and values that Dr. King expressed in his dream for America,” said Robin Vann Ricca, MPH, JD, director of Organizational Development, Training and Diversity Management at BWH.
As part of the celebration, accomplished soloist Vivian Cooley-Collier, a member of BWH’s Office for Women's Careers, sang moving renditions of a selection of Dr. King’s favorite hymns.
