Frederica Williams of the Whittier Street Health Center and BWH’s Gary Gottlieb.
BWH President Gary Gottlieb, MD, MBA, was the subject of Whittier Street Health Center’s annual roast this month, an event that raised more than $500,000 for the health center.
BWH Chief Operating Officer Kate Walsh, Paula Johnson, MD, MPH, executive director of the Connors Center for Women’s Health and Gender Biology, Partners Chief Operating Officer Thomas Glynn and Partners Board of Directors Chair Jack Connors all took turns ribbing Gottlieb.
Each year, Whittier Street chooses a local leader who has exemplified excellence in the Boston community to roast at this annual fund-raiser.
“We are honoring him because of his personal mission to increase access to the highest quality of care and his commitment to eliminating racial and ethnic disparities in health care,” Whittier Street Health Center President and CEO Frederica Williams said in a statement. “Gary is as concerned about the social services programs at Whittier that address social inequities as he is in bringing the best technology to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.”
