Harvey Joins SJPHC as Nurse Manager
Regina Harvey, MS, RN, in April joined BWH as nurse manager of Southern Jamaica Plain Health Center (SJPHC). In her new position, Harvey will work with employees on patient centered care.
“I want everyone to know how to respond confidently to patients’ needs,” Harvey said. “That’s why I’m making it my primary goal to make our care patient-centered and ensure all employees feel comfortable and prepared to respond to patients.”
Harvey plans to strengthen the interactive environment at SJPHC, which means fostering communication among employees. Already, she has held one-on-one meetings with the center’s 40 employees, and helped each set goals that will support SJPHC as a whole. “It’s a good team, and everyone is an important contributor,” Harvey said.
“We are thrilled to have Regina as our nurse manager,” said Tom Kieffer, executive director of SJPHC. “She already has shown that she is a leader and, with her nursing skills, she will accomplish a lot.”
Harvey received her bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and went on to earn her master’s in healthcare administration from Simmons School of Health Studies. She joined BWH from MGH’s Chelsea Health Center.
