The ability to communicate quickly with staff and employees is a critical piece of BWH's emergency preparedness efforts.
As part of that effort, BWH has introduced a new Employee Alert System (EAS) that enables BWHers to receive important emergency-related messages from BWH by text message, email and/or phone call.
"The examples of alerts you may expect to receive include weather emergencies, MBTA closures and disaster situational awareness," said Barry Wante, director of Emergency Management. "This new effort will enhance our communication capabilities during urgent situations."
Emergency situations from the past year, such as the blizzard and the Boston Marathon bombings, have highlighted the need for rapid communication even more.
Wante points out that this new EAS is separate from the existing Emergency Notification System that is used mainly by hospital incident command system personnel.
The EAS is subscriber-based, so you must opt in and select how you would like to receive messages. When signing up, subscribers will be asked to enter their own unique user name and password. This is not the same as your Partners user name and password.
"Registration to receive these alerts is voluntary, but we would encourage every member of our Brigham community to sign up and take advantage of this system," said Julia Sinclair, MBA, MHA, senior vice president of Clinical Services.
