The American Cancer Society's Great American Smokeout is just around the corner, and BWH is here to help employees who are trying to kick their smoking habit.
On Nov. 21, the society encourages smokers to commit to quit. By quitting-even just for one day-smokers will be taking an important step towards a healthier life that can lead to reducing cancer risk. Tobacco use remains the single largest preventable cause of disease and premature death in the U.S., yet nearly one in five adults smoke.
BWH Occupational Health Services can help BWHers customize their quit-smoking plan. To schedule a meeting with an Occupational Health specialist, call 617-732-6034. Other resources can be found at BWHPikeNotes.org/About/tobaccofreecampus.aspx, or at quitworks.makesmokinghistory.org.
