Since 1988, Edna Liberman has devoted some part of her week to service at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. For many years, she and her husband Harry worked hard to ensure the success of Brigham and Women’s Hospital United Way Campaign by working together to get the seemingly impossible job done. They also have helped on projects in many departments, including the Emergency Department. Today, she brings her unique personality and bright smile with her as she helps prepare essential patient packets for hospital admissions. Few physicians or patients know who Edna is, but her work has an significant impact on the completeness and timeliness of each packet sent to patients who are scheduled for admission, surgery, or obstetrics. Not only is Edna’s work important to the Patient Access Services department and to the hospital, but her engaging spirit touches everyone she meets. Her work is greatly appreciated, and her unique personality is treasured. More than 800 volunteers pledge their time and talent to support the mission of BWH. Five of them have been honored as Volunteers of the Year and will be recognized at a celebration on May 4 at 4:30 p.m. in the Bornstein Amphitheater
