The Clinical Research Program is sponsoring a new seminar series, “Genomics Approaches to Common Diseases,” designed to educate clinical and basic investigators from across all departments about recent advances in genomics and to demonstrate opportunities for integrating genomics approaches into their current research activities. The first lecture, "Finding Gene Expression Patterns in Disease," will be on March 28, 4-5 p.m., in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Todd R. Golub, MD, Harvard Medical School, Whitehead/MIT Center for Genome Research, will discuss genome-wide expression analysis in cancer, with particular emphasis on pattern recognition in complex gene expression data. It is anticipated that such genomics approaches will lead to new insights into the pathogenesis and clinical management of human cancer. Registration is recommended. For registration materials and further information please contact Alison Simmons, alsimmons@partners.org or call the CRP education office at 726-1669.
