The BWH team had a blast at last year’s Arthritis Foundation Walk and plans to do so again this year.
BWH Arthritis Center staff, family and friends are once again stepping up for the Arthritis Foundation Walk in Boston Sept. 13.
The team hopes to recruit at least 30 participants and raise at least $5,000 this year, according to team captain Kori Berardino, practice manager of the BWH Arthritis Center. “Last year, BWH was the highest corporate team based on both fund-raising and number of participants, and we hope to do it again,” she said.
The walk benefits the Arthritis Foundation, which strives to improve the lives of people with arthritis by supporting patient care, education and research. In 2008, the Massachusetts chapter of the Arthritis Foundation awarded more than $1 million in grants to BWH.
“The foundation’s efforts support our patients, our continued research and the entire community,” Berardino said.
Walkers can choose either a 1- or 3-mile route, beginning at the Prudential Center.
“We welcome anyone to join us, so tell your family, friends and patients,” Berardino said. “It’s a great day for all.”
