The Partners team.
A team of health professionals from BWH, MGH, Newton-Wellesley and Spaulding stepped up to the plate for the annual Field of Dreams softball game at Fenway Park to support Boston’s oldest anti-poverty agency, Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD).
The annual event supports ABCD’s SummerWorks program, which provides jobs, education, mentoring and tutoring throughout the summer for low-income, at-risk Boston teenagers. The annual event has raised more than $2 million for ABCD anti-poverty programs and services over the past decade, expecting to raise more than $150,000 this year from the May 11 game.
Led by Patrick O’Gara and Robert Giugliano, the BWHers on the team included Peter Banks, Peter Doubilet, Karen Joynt, Michelle O’Donoghue, Charles Pozner, Dan Ruan, Frank Rybicki, Ben Scirica, David Williams and Steve Wiviott.
The Partners team played against the SummerWorks team and won, although the real winners are the teens who benefit from the ABCD programs the event supports.
