BWH mourns the loss of Peter F. Millin, PharmD, a resident in the Pharmacy Program, who passed away unexpectedly Nov. 30. He was 24.
Dr. Millin was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro. He earned his PharmD from Northeastern University in May, and then began as a resident at BWH. He previously had completed a six-week rotation in BWH’s Investigational Drug Service as a student.
“Pete’s knowledge and dedication to practice secured him a spot in the postgraduate Pharmacy Residency Program,” said Steve Baroletti, PharmD, MBA, clinical practice manager. “He was a great guy, and he was so happy to be doing his work. He always wanted to do well and wanted everyone else to do well.”
Bill Churchill, director of Pharmacy, said that Dr. Millin was well-liked by all of his colleagues. “He was always known as someone willing to help anyone with a problem or project and do it with a big smile on his face,” Churchill said. “He made our department a better place to be, and we shall all miss him very much.”
Dr. Millin was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Bruins, Red Sox and the Indianapolis Colts. He was outgoing, and he loved spending time with his family and friends.
“Peter’s personality, work ethic and contagious zeal will be missed in the Pharmacy Department and by his friends and family,” Baroletti said.
Dr. Millin is survived by his mother, Carol (Dalton) Saitas and her husband, Andrew Saitas; three brothers, Christopher, Ryan and Daniel Millin; grandparents, Frederick and Mary Millin and Maureen Dalton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were held Dec. 5, followed by a burial in Highland Cemetery in Norwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, One Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.
A memorial service is being planned at BWH.
